Rockets, Warriors missing from softball squad
The Cedar Grove-Belgium and Ozaukee high schools’ softball teams didn’t have the seasons they would have liked, and the all-conference voting reflected that.
No Rocket or Warrior received any Big East recognition.
The Rockets went 2-12 with one victory coming at a key time. They beat Ozaukee, 12-6, early in the season before winning their second game in the first round of the playoffs.
The Rockets topped Living Word Lutheran/Heritage Christian, 5-2, before losing, 19-0, at Lomira.
Ozaukee, in its first full season as a varsity program, fielded a young team that went 0-13.
Mishicot won the Big East with a 12-0 record (24-3 overall), had six first team selections and won the Division 4 state title. Mishicot catcher/first baseman Katelyn Callahan was the Big East Player of the Year. She hit .512 with 36 RBI and four home runs.
