Roberta ‘Bobby’ Hypki

Roberta L. “Bobby” Hypki was born to eternal life on Wednesday, May 1, 2019. She was 92 years old.

Roberta was born in Shorewood on Sept. 8, 1926, to Herbert and Hildegard (nee Lillydahl) Pasteur.

Roberta married Kenneth Hypki in 1951 and they began dairy farming on a farm south of Fredonia.

She worked in advertising at the Milwaukee Journal by day and helped milk cows morning and night. Raising the calves was her specialty. Later, Roberta worked in real estate for 40 years, selling country property and helping people find their dream place as she had found hers on Far Field Farm.

A vibrant woman who lived her strong faith and shared it with countless others, Roberta was active in the St. Rose Parish Ladies Sodality and the choir, and she taught Christian education to young people.

She was also a member of the St. James prayer group.

Roberta expressed her great love for nature, gardening, birds and wildlife through planting trees, writing poetry and teaching others to love and respect the land. One of her greatest gifts was encouraging, mentoring and inspiring others — especially children and youth. Roberta served on the Ozaukee County 4-H Board, the Ozaukee High School Scholarship Fund and the Ozaukee-Washington Land Trust and faithfully volunteered at the Hidden Treasure Resale shop in Port Washington. She loved Lake Michigan and walking the beach with her family at Harrington Beach State Park in the Town of Belgium.

Roberta is survived by her husband Kenneth Hypki; two daughters, Robin Parsons and Cinder Hypki; grandchildren Angela and Daniel Parsons; and sisters Suzanne (Fred) Sweet, Julie Pasteur and Louise (Leon) Spheeris. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.

Roberta was preceded in death by her parents Herbert and Hildegard.

A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Thursday, May 9, 2019, at 6 p.m. at Divine Savior Parish, Holy Cross Chapel, 5330 Hwy. B, Belgium. Father Todd Budde will preside.

The family will receive visitors from 4 to 5:45 p.m.

Interment for immediate family will be at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Cemetery in Fredonia.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to Divine Savior Parish or the Ozaukee Christian School Fund.

Roberta’s family would like to thank Dr. Scott Wilfong and Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for the care and compassion they provided.
