Robert “Bob” Hammen

Robert John “Bob” Hammen, 83, passed away on May 30, 2026, at Harvest Home in Grafton, Wis.

He was born on Dec. 10, 1942, in West Bend to the late Bessie (nee Bearson) and Ervin Hammen.

Bob graduated from West Bend High School and served as a reservist in the Army National Guard while starting his career in tool and dye at Gehl Co. in West Bend.

He married his love, Nancy Mae (nee Fulmer), on May 2, 1964, at Immanuel United Church of Christ. They built a life and family together on Little Cedar Lake in West Bend.

Bob served as president of the Great Lakes Sport Fishermen Club Ozaukee Chapter for 30 years and enjoyed boating, fishing, restoring/riding in his classic Cadillac convertibles, listening to Elvis, walking nature trails with his grandkids and spending time with his family.

Bob is survived by children Diane (Mike) Smies, Lynn (Scott) Sarauer and Paul (Lori) Hammen and grandchildren Nick, Katrina, Emily, Ayden, Jayden, Kenlee, Ethan, Danny and Isabella Smies, Samuel, Elizabeth and Maxwell Sarauer and Ethan Hammen. He is further survived by his brother Jim Hammen and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Nancy. 

A private gathering for family members will be held at Washington County Memorial Park.
