Riveredge trails open, video series available
The trails at Riveredge Nature Center remain open despite the coronavirus pandemic, with those visiting encouraged to pay attention to social distancing and not to leave trash behind.
The center at 4458 Hwy. Y in the Town of Saukville has 10 miles of trails that are open from dawn to dusk.
Directions and trail maps are available on the center’s website, riveredgenaturecenter.org, and printed trail maps are available at most trail heads.
Dogs are not allowed on the trails.
The trail fees are $5 per person or $15 per family for non-members.
Outhouses are available southeast of the Visitor’s Center near the yurts, and a port-a-potty is available in the west parking lot near Newburg.
For those who can’t visit, Riveredge is offering a Virtual Naturalist video series that provide glimpses into how naturalist educators at the center continue to stay engaged with the outdoors. The videos can be found as a playlist on YouTube or on the center’s Facebook page and website.
Riveredge maple syrup, maple candies, Riveredge apparel and other items may be ordered through the Riveredge Nature Store and picked up via curbside delivery at the center during normal business hours.
