Riveredge still offers nature programs, trails
Riveredge Nature Center in the Town of Saukville is offering a variety of ways for area residents to get in touch with nature, even though the center itself is closed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
There is a weekly Tea and Topics session that addressed nature and outdoor topics held at 10 a.m. Wednesdays.

Among the upcoming topics are raptor recovery efforts with Mike Grisar of We Energies on May 13, fossil finds with Kacey Tait on May 20 and orchid restoration with Melissa Curran of Stantec on May 27.
Riveredge’s annual birdathon will be held from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 9.

Riveredge also has a naturalist series available online as well as a list of plants that can be found on its grounds under the phenology listing on the center website.
Although the buildings at Riveredge are closed, its 10 miles of trails remain open for public use from dawn to dusk. Directions and trail maps may be accessed online.
Trail fees are $5 per person and $15 per family per day. Dogs are not allowed on the trails.
