Registrations taken for Fish Day run, walk

Registrations are being accepted for the 35th Fish Day Run/Walk/Roll Saturday, July 16.

But while the event, which kicks off Port Fish Day, will return to an in-person race this year, there is a significant change.

There will be new routes for both the 8-kilometer run and two-mile run/walk.

The race will start and finish in Coal Dock Park and travel through the marina district. The  8K run will go through Upper Lake Park and return on the Ozaukee Interurban Trail.

Both the 8K and two-mile routes support strollers and wheelchairs.

First place awards for both male and female racers will be presented in the following age categories — younger than age 9, 10 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69 and older than 70 years.

An award will also be presented to the first-place team.

Early registration runs through June 30. The $30 fee includes a commemorative T-shirt and a finisher medal.

To register, visit www.portalinc.org or runsignup.com/Race/WI/PortWashington/FishDayRunWalkorRoll.

The registration fee increases to $35 on July 1 and $40 on race day.

People who refer five others who sign up for the event will have their registration fee refunded.

The race is hosted by Portal, Inc. in Grafton, a nonprofit organization providing services to adults and students transitioning from high school with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
