Public school funding must win the coming budget fight

Public schools get a needed lift in the budget proposal unveiled recently by Gov. Tony Evers.

His 2023-25 budget calls for $2.6 billion in additional state spending for K-12 schools. The budget also proposes raising the property tax revenue limits for school districts by $1,000 per pupil over two years.
