Programs for parents, kids offered in spring

Programs for parents, children and families are being offered by Ozaukee Family Services.

“Bedtime Blues” is a free workshop being held via Zoom from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25.

The class will discuss ways to promote good sleep habits for babies and offer guidance and solutions for toddlers with sleep issues.

Jennifer Strom, clinical director at North Shore Center, will lead the program.

In-person stress management support groups are offered for middle school boys and girls.

The in-person groups are intended to help address the emotional and social challenges many middles schoolers face along with the isolation of the pandemic.

The groups will meet at the Ozaukee Family Services office in Grafton. Each group will be small, social distancing will be maintained and masks will be required.

The dates and times are to be determined based on the schedules of those wishing to participate, likely starting between 4 and 6 p.m. Groups will meet for one hour a week for six weeks.

A Parents as Teachers program is also offered by Ozaukee Family Services for families with children through kindergarten.

Personalized visits, either in person or online, provide information about child development  and age-appropriate activities.
