Port Washington to hold grand opening of new gym on Friday

The Port Washington High School basketball teams have played in the school’s new gym, but on Friday a grand opening celebration will be held against a fitting opponent.

Rival Grafton will come to town for a girls and boys doubleheader.

The junior varsity girls’ game starts at 4 p.m., followed by the varsity game at 5:45 p.m.

Port’s a cappella group Limited Edition will perform at halftime, along with Grafton’s dance team.

The grand opening presentation will be held before the boys tip off at 7:15 p.m. Port’s pep band will perform.

During halftime, Port’s dance team, drum line and Limited Edition will perform.

The new gym features top-loading bleachers and a graphically enhanced hardwood surface.

Fans are welcome to check out the upper and lower cafeteria, fitness center, wrestling room, and upper and lower decks.
