Port tennis drops two

The Port Washington High School girls’ tennis team lost two matches last week.
Milwaukee Lutheran/Lake Country Lutheran beat Port, 6-1, on Sept. 8, and Homestead won, 7-0, on Sept. 2.
The Pirates’ No. 3 doubles team of Alena Schlenvogt and Jennifer Boccio had the only win, beating Josie Olson and Jacy Dall, 6-3, 6-0.
“They used angles, deep baseline shots and net play to beat their opponents,” coach Melonie Zielinski said.
Port was to host Hartford on Tuesday, West Bend West on Wednesday, play in a Cedarburg invite on Saturday, at Cedarburg on Tuesday, Sept. 21, and at Germantown on Wednesday, Sept. 22.
