Port swimmers progress

The Port Washington High School boys’ swim team set five personal records against West Bend Co-op at home last Thursday.
The Pirates lost to their much larger opponent, 117-46.
Sophomore Jack Sickles won the 200-yard individual medley in a personal record 2 minutes, 25.75 seconds, and won the 100 backstroke in 1:09.37.
Sophomore Ben Falkenberg won the 200 freestyle in 2:23.58.
Senior Dagan Daniels took second in diving with 201.7 points.
The 200 medley relay of Falkenberg, Elliot Hadacek, Sickles and Finn Ritter was third in 2:11.75.
The 200 freestyle relay of Falkenberg, Ritter, Daniels and Sickles was third in a personal record 1:52.07. The team of Maksym Kaisyanchuk, Cooper Davenport, Tim Zeien and Elliot Hadacek was fourth in a personal record 2:05.7.
Kaisyanchuc was third in the 50 freestyle in 29.04 and set a personal record in the 100 freestyle in 1:06.49, good for fifth.
Hadacek was fifth in the 500 freestyle in a personal record 6:54.06. Falkenberg was third in 6:27.49, and Zeien was fourth in 6:53.58.
The Pirates competed in a triangular meet on Jan. 12 at Kiel. The hosts won with 124 points. Shawano scored 110 and Port had 63.
Daniels won diving with a personal record 218.2 points.
Falkenberg was second in the 500 freestyle in a personal record 6:24.24 and second in the 100 backstroke in 1:11.03. He was third in the 200 freestyle in 2:23.92.
Sickles was third in the 100 butterfly in a personal record 1:07.08.
Ritter was third in the 100 freestyle in 1:05.72.
The 200 freestyle relay team of Ritter, Falkenberg, Daniels and Sickles was third in 1:52.37.
Grafton lost to West Bend Co-op, 114-67, on Jan. 5, and lost to Hartford-Slinger 92-67 on Jan. 7. Individual statistics weren’t available.
Port and Grafton compete in the North Shore Conference Diving Meet on Thursday at Cedarburg and in the NSC Swimming Meet Saturday in Grafton.
