Port street department to pick up holiday trees

Christmas trees will be picked up at the curb in Port Washington during the weeks of Jan. 11 and Jan. 25.

The trees, which will be picked up by the Port Washington Street Department, must be bare, with lights, garland and ornaments removed.

They also must not be in a stand or a plastic bag.

While the street crew will pick up trees, they will not pick up discarded wreaths.

Wreaths are considered refuse and should be placed in garbage carts for pickup.
