Port High to present ‘Working’ live and in person
Port Washington High School will present a live performance of the musical “Working” for a limited audience next week in the Port Washington High School Performing Arts Center. Based on a book by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Studs Terkel, the musical examines the feelings, opinions and situations of people from different walks of life who have different occupations. Director and Choreographer Bonnie Steele noted the show was presented 40 years ago by Port Summer Theatre, adding, “It seemed like the perfect time to bring it back.” The cast includes Hunter Hermans, Gavin Muller, Ben Falkenberg, Roman Cira, Quinn Barrington, Adrien Heinicki, Erik Krueger, Brandon Hale, Andrew Schmitz, James Mitchell, Lucas Poull, Bryce Grant, Matthew McCaman, Tyler Grosenick, Katie Wagner, Katelyn Poull, Jennifer Poull, Abby Rowley, Sydney Garthus, Kalyn Diercks, Abby Fritsch, Jasmine Cannon, Elizabeth Gephart, Molly Pashak, Isabella Schmitz, Shannon Knowski, Alina Lisowski, Alexis Navigato, Emily Greene, Macy Smith, Alexis Jobs, Ty DeFendi, Ping Zhao, Julia Mitchell, Olivia Abbe, Alyssa Hovey and 4-year-old Kyah Sand. The vocal director is Dennis Gephart and Chris Clouthier is the pit band director. Shows will be presented at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 20, Friday, May 21, and Saturday, May 22. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at hometowntickets.com. Seating is limited due to pandemic protocols.
