Port girls are off to a rough start

The Port Washington High School girls’ basketball team has yet to hit its stride.

The Pirates in their first three games have been outscored 246-74.

In the 77-17 season-opening loss at Hartford on Nov. 24, Tiana Davis scored eight points.

Hartford’s Olivia Otto and Becca Stoeckman each scored 13 points to lead 12 Orioles in scoring.

At West Bend East on Dec. 1, Port lost 93-29. Sarah Staplefelt had 26 points to lead five Suns in double figures. Lainy Williams had 12 points and 13 rebounds.

At Slinger last Thursday, the Pirates lost, 76-28. Stats were unavailable.

Port was to host Nicolet for its first home game of the season on Tuesday. The Pirates play at defending North Shore Conference champion West Bend West on Friday and at Cedarburg on Tuesday, Dec. 15.
