Plein air contest, camp for youths set for June
The 15th annual plein air art contest for youths ages 17 and younger will be held from Thursday, June 14, through Friday, June 22.
The contest, sponsored by the Cedarburg Cultural Center, features artists painting outdoors.
It begins at 10 a.m. June 14 with participants expected to return one completed work of art to the center by noon June 22.
Awards will be presented in four age categories — 5 and younger, 6 to 8, 9 to 12 and 13 to 17.

The artwork will be exhibited at the center from 10 a.m. Saturday, June 23, through 4 p.m. Saturday, July 14.
Those attending may vote for the People’s Choice Award.
The awards ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 27.
Artists age 17 and younger are also invited to attend the eighth annual “Color Your World” youth plein air art camp from 9 a.m. to noon June 18 to 22.
Those attending will explore the streets of Cedarburg, trails and ponds of Riveredge Nature Center in the Town of Saukville, the Family Farm in the Town of Grafton; and the Port Washington lakefront.
Participants will receive a free entry into the plein air contest, supplies and a snack each day. Parents must accompany children five and younger.
