Pitching in at Harrington Beach State Park

A corps of volunteers did their part for the environment by volunteering to tackle a host of projects at Harrington Beach State Park in the Town of Belgium during Work Play Earth Day on Saturday, April 26. Planting a smaller tree were Girl Scouts Madelyn Rindt, Emmeline Jacobson and Violet Sipple, Girl Scout leader Robyn Wiegand and Ranger Molly McKay. Planting an evergreen were John Emerson and Steve Plumb (lower). In addition to planting trees, volunteers cleaned up the Lake Michigan beach in the park, planted wildflowers and did trail maintenance.      Photos by Sam Arendt
