Pioneer Village will host World War II event
The Ozaukee County Historical Society and Northwoods Living History Group will present a World War II event from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 17, at Pioneer Village in the Town of Saukville.
Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for students ages 13 to 17 and seniors, and $5 for veterans and children ages 5 to 12. World War II veterans get in free.
The event’s title is “1945 – Going Home, The War Is Over.”
The event includes a remembering the Holocaust exhibit, demonstrations throughout the village, a scavenger hunt, vendors’ market and lunch.
A military vehicle parade will be held at 11 a.m.
Battle in the Bowl will be held at noon and 3 p.m.
Swing Nouveau will perform big band music from 7 to 9 p.m. People are encouraged to dress in period attire.
A beer and wine cash bar will be available.
Admission is $5 at the door or free with a World War II Day wristband.
A public preview will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, May 16. Admission is $5.
