PHOTO OP ED: Black and white in a sea of green

You don’t have to hold your nose to enjoy this sighting of two baby skunks meandering through lush fields of high grass near Highway LL in the Town of Port Washington. Greta Schanen of Port photographed the mammals in their bright green environment, accented by barn-red and silo-blue, discreetly enough to avoid triggering the skunks’ dreaded olfactory assault when stressed.
