Paul Henning

Paul J. Henning of Port Washington was called home to be with Jesus on Dec. 18, 2021, while surrounded by his loving family.

Paul was born on Sept. 12, 1968, to Jerald Henning and Sandra (Simonar) Pacey in Port Washington.  

Paul spent the last 53 years of his life defying the odds and loving his life.

In his younger years, he enjoyed competing and winning medals in the Special Olympics.

Paul was an extremely social person who warmed the hearts of all those who met him. He truly enjoyed his summertime trips to Camp Evergreen, which kept him energized and engaged with the world around him.

Family meant everything to Paul, although he may have loved Snoopy just as much. He also liked football and wouldn’t miss a Green Bay Packers game if he could help it.

Each and every person that had the chance to know him would admit that to know Paul was to love him.

Those left to cherish Paul’s memory are his mother and stepfather Sandra and Ron Pacey of Grafton and his siblings, Robin (Robert) Fechter of Saukville, Amy (Tim) Hallett of Grafton, Chad (Samantha) Henning of Clarksville, Tenn., Traci (Andrew) Kolberg of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Tanya (Thomas) Kirk of Huntersville, Ind.

He was also a beloved uncle for 15 nieces and nephews.

He was met at Heaven’s gates by his brother David Kelly, father Jerald, step-mother Sharon, grandparents Kenneth and Gwendola Simonar, and Walter Henning and Mary Carriveau.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday Dec. 29, 2021, at Eernisse Funeral Home 1600 W. Grand Ave., Port Washington, WI 53074 with Pastor Luke Anderson presiding.  

The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until the service.

Paul will be laid to rest at Holden East Cemetery next to his brother David.
