Painter is December artist at Gallery 224

Ashley Lusietto is the December artist in residence at Gallery 224 in Port Washington.

Lusietto, who worked at the Zinn Preserve in the Town of Erin as part of the ArtServancy program, is an artist, educator and arts administrator based in central Tennessee.

She earned her bachelor of fine arts and master of fine arts degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with an emphasis in painting.

Her work has been exhibited in solo exhibitions at Portrait Society Gallery, Marian Gallery and Arts and Literature Laboratory and in group exhibitions at the Saint Kate Arts Hotel, the Museum of Wisconsin Art and the Trout Museum of Art.

She has completed artist residencies at Gallery 224/ArtServancy, the Bubbler and Penland School of Craft’s winter residency.

Her commissions include murals at the Madison Public Library and the Museum of Wisconsin Art.

Lusietto has taught at Mount Mary University and coordinated programs for the Worm Farm Institute. She is currently the program manager at the Appalachian Center for Craft in Smithville, Tenn.

An artist workshop and reception will be held at Gallery 224 on Saturday, Dec. 30. The workshop will run from 4:30 to 6 p.m. and the reception from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Drinks and light refreshments will be served.

The gallery at 303 N. Franklin St. is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays.
