Ozaukee wins mud fest
Ozaukee High School senior running back Brent Hoffmann ran for three touchdowns and caught another as Ozaukee blew out Kohler/Sheboygan Lutheran/Christian last Friday at home, 44-20.
The Warriors used a 38-0 run from the second quarter to the beginning of the fourth to pull away.
Hoffmann got the scoring started with a one-yard touchdown run in the first quarter.
KLC took an 8-6 lead later in the quarter on a 13-yard touchdown run, and its two-point conversion was successful. That was its only lead of the game.
Logan Bell ran for a one-yard score in the second quarter, and quarterback Ty Szczerbinski later hit Hoffmann for a 12-yard touchdown. It was 22-8 at halftime.
Hoffmann scored on a 45-yard touchdown run to start the scoring in the third quarter.
Bell intercepted a pass and raced 50 yards for another score to make it 36-8.
Hoffmann scored from nine yards out to complete the 38-point barrage in the fourth quarter.
KLC scored on two late touchdown runs to close the deficit to 24 points.
The Warriors and KLC each went to 3-5 in the Big East Conference. Ozaukee closes the season at Howards Grove (2-6) on Friday.
