Ozaukee judge orders state to strike about 200,000 voters from registration rolls

About 200,000 Wisconsin residents must be removed from the state’s voter registration rolls because they had moved, according to a ruling made Friday by Ozaukee County Circuit Judge Paul Malloy on Friday.

Malloy ruled that the state Elections Commission did not follow its “plain legal duty” when it informed so-called “movers”  — voters who recently moved and now live at addresses different than the ones on their voter registrations — that they might be taken off voter registration rolls but failed to inform them that they needed to act within 30 days as state law requires.
