Ozaukee baseball stays hot early

Ozaukee High School’s baseball team started the season with four straight victories, including a 12-0 win at Sheboygan Lutheran on Tuesday.
The Warriors began with a 9-1 win over Random Lake on April 27, then beat Howards Grove, 5-2, on May 4.
Simon Bares allowed two runs on one hit through 6-1/3 innings, with eight strikeouts and four walks against Howards Grove.
Noah Miller pitched the final 2/3 of an inning, walking one and whiffing three.
Matt Miller went 2-for-3 with a walk and one RBI.
Other RBI came from freshman Natalie Miller, Talan Dybul and Sawyer Kowalkowski. Dybul had a double.
“This was a well-fought game and a great win,” coach Steve Kowalkowski said.
The Warriors host Reedsville at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, play at Kewaskum on Friday and host Kohler/Sheboygan Christian at 4:30 p.m. Monday, May 17.
Cedar Grove-Belgium bounced back from a 2-1 season-opening loss to Hilbert/Stockbridge and dismantled Kohler/Sheboygan Chtrisian, 21-2, on April 29. They lost at Mishicot, 13-5, on May 4.
The Rockets were to play Howards Grove on Tuesday, at Random Lake on Thursday and at Manitowoc Lutheran on Monday, May 17.
In softball, the Warriors, in their first year in varsity competition, lost, 15-0, at Howards Grove on May 4, 15-0 to Hilbert/Stockbridge last Thursday and 17-0 at Sheboygan Lutheran on Tuesday.
They host Reedsville on Thursday.
The Rockets lost at Mishicot, 19-0, on May 4, 13-3 at Sheboygan Lutheran last Thursday and 17-0 to Howards Grove on Tuesday.
The Rockets (1-5) play at Random Lake on Thursday.
