She’s only a junior but Sydnie Stadler led the Ozaukee High School volleyball team in most categories this season.

Her play put her on the Big East first team.

“She had a career season as she continues to develop as a player,” coach Paul Junbauer said.

In 96 sets, Stadler set career highs in kills with 353, kills per set (3.7), aces (80), digs (311), digs per set (3.2) and blocks (13). She put up 11 double-doubles on the year.

“She really has worked hard to become the player she currently is and I am very proud of her accomplishment of earning the respect of the other coaches in our conference and division,” Jungbauer said.

“To be recognized as one of the top six players in the Blue Division of the Big East Conference is a big accomplishment, especially when the state champion is in your division and took up eight of the 18 all-conference spots from the Blue Division.”

Howards Grove had three players on each the first and second team, and two who earned honorable mention.

“Sydnie is a large part of our success this season and what we have been able to accomplish as a program over the last three years. Sydnie has the capability to play volleyball in college if she chooses to. I would anticipate if Sydnie stays healthy next season she should surpass 1,000 career kills and 1,000 career digs,” Junbauer said.

Cedar Grove-Belgium had two players honored, led by Olivia Robertson on the second team. She had 379 kills, 136 assists, 13 blocks and 35 digs and 24 aces.

“Olivia was the mentally strongest player I have coached. She stepped in to set this year after some injuries even though she never had before and she did great,” coach Chris Holzer said.

Shelby Cooney earned honorable mention. She had 523 digs and 22 aces.

“Shelby was our back row specialist. She dug everything and pushed our back row to succeed. She was always looking to improve and never was complacent,” Holzer said.
