NOSD gears up for third referendum try

The Northern Ozaukee School District is preparing for a referendum on November’s ballot by focusing on community outreach and figuring out why the previous two referendums have been rejected.

The district, which is facing a $800,000 deficit for the next school year, was rebuffed in April when it asked voters for a  four-year, $1.7 million annual increase to its operational tax levy. Last year, a similar question was rejected by voters.
