Monarch walk, ‘Read to Diesel’ set at Port library

    A monarch hunt and reading sessions with a therapy dog will be hosted by the Niederkorn Library in Port Washington during the coming weeks.
    Monarchs in the Park, a community scavenger hunt, will have children 12 and younger hunting for laminated pictures of monarch butterflies in Port Washington parks from May 14 through June 2.
    The youngsters may then bring the pictures in to the library to receive a free book.
    There is a limit of one book per child.
    The pictures can be found in Antoine, Bley, City, Colombia, Hidden Hills, Kolbach, Lion’s, Overlook, Schanen Acres, Stacker, Veteran’s Memorial, Whitefish, Windrush and Woods at White Pine parks.  
    The library will also host “Read to Diesel” sessions, where youngsters can ready to Diesel the therapy dog for 10 minutes.
    Diesel will be available from 4 to 6 p.m. on June 10, 14, 17, 21 and 24 and July 8, 12, 15, 19 and 22.
