Miller gets back to hitting again
After his nine-game hitting streak was snapped on Aug. 5, Ozaukee alumnus Owen Miller went three games without a base hit for the San Diego Padres double-A affiliate Amarillo Sod Poodles.
But he bounced back with a hit in each of his last two games as of Tuesday.
In Tuesday’s 5-4 win over the Midland RockHounds, Miller had an RBI single to right field in the first inning.
Miller leads the team with 126 hits this season and has led the league or ranked second for most of the year in the category. He is hitting .288 with 12 home runs and 59 RBI.
The Sod Poodles are 30-21 in the second half of the season and in first place in the Texas South Division.
