Mary Cisewski

Mary K. Cisewski, 84, died at her Belgium home after a brief illness on Wednesday, April 24.
“She was a loving mother. My sister and I were blessed to have her,” her son Jon said. “There’s a pretty big void that will take some time to fill.”
Mrs. Cisewski was born in Milwaukee on Feb. 2, 1935, to Stanley and Mary Mihelich Gross.
She graduated from Holy Angels Academy in Milwaukee in 1953 and sang in the Bel Canto Choir.
On May 28, 1960, she married Donald Cisewski at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Thiensville.
Mrs. Cisewski was a long-time member of Divine Savior Parish and was involved in its Christian Women’s group.
She worked as a certified nursing assistant and later as a recreational therapist at Mequon Care Center for 28 years. After retirement, she worked in the same capacity at Port Haven and Decorah Springs.
Her family said she enjoyed the outdoors, bird watching and her dogs.
Mrs. Cisewski is survived by her children Jon (Lynn) of Belgium and Mary Beth Ewig of Plymouth; grandchildren Shawn (Julie) Ewig and Brianna Jung; and brother Dennis Gross of Cedarburg.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 2012 and parents.
A Mass of Christian burial was to be held at noon on Wednesday, May 1, at Divine Savior Catholic Parish, Holy Cross Chapel in Belgium. Father Todd Budde was to preside.
Interment was to be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Lake Church.
Memorials to the Salesian Mission or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital are suggested.
Eernisse Funeral Home, Port Washington, is handling the arrangements.
