Margaret K. Leicht

Mrs. Marge Leicht of Port Washington passed away Wednesday morning, Dec. 4, 2019, at Village Point Commons in Grafton, where she had been a resident for the last two years.  She was 87 years old.

Margaret was born in Sheboygan on June 22, 1932, the daughter of David and Henrietta Wagner Gross.

She attended local schools and graduated from Central High School.

On April 1, 1953, Marge was united in marriage with Karl Leicht. The couple settled in Sheboygan and started their family, moving to Port Washington in 1966.  He preceded her in death in 2017.

Mrs. Leicht was a former member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Port Washington.

She enjoyed flower gardening, word puzzles and reading Readers Digest and Birds & Blooms publications. Marge loved her dogs and liked to feed the birds, squirrels and neighborhood cats. Above all, she was very proud of her family and her beautiful home.

Survivors include her son Jeff (Deborah) Leicht of Scottsdale, Ariz.; daughters Julie Barth of Milwaukee and June (David) Miller of Grafton; and six grandchildren, Jennifer and Jacqueline Leicht, both of Scottsdale, Ariz., Matthew (Catie) and Todd Barth, both of Cedarburg, Joseph Miller of Grafton and Katherine Miller of LaCrosse.

She is further survived by three great-grandchildren, Ava, Nathan and Caleb; brother-in-law John Freimuth of Palos Heights, Ill.; nieces Erika Carter and Gretchen Freimuth of Tinley Park, Ill.; nephew Mark Heronymus of Sheboygan, Wis.; other relatives; and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Karl, sister Janet Freimuth and sister-in-law Marlene Heronymus.

A private family service was held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 9, when Marge was laid to rest beside Karl at St. Mary’s Columbarium in Port Washington.

If desired, memorials may be directed to the Wisconsin Humane Society–Ozaukee Campus, to honor Marge’s love of animals.
