A 47-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting three girls, all of whom are now 15 and are friends, was charged with four felonies in Ozaukee County Circuit Court this week.

One of the girls said Scott G. Schofield, a former Grafton resident who now lives in West Bend, treated her like a “sex doll” and first assaulted her when she was 10, according to a criminal complaint charging Schofield with three child sex assault counts, including first-degree sexual assault of a child by use or threat of force or violence and repeated sexual assault of a child, as well as child enticement.

Another girl who accused Schofield of sexually assaulting her said he bought her alcohol in exchange for photos showing her naked and offered to pay as much as $700 to have sex with her, the complaint states.

According to court records, Schofield is being held in the Washington County jail in lieu of $250,000 bail on child sexual assault charges filed there in July.

The Ozaukee County case is based on the statements of the three girls who came forward with their accusations in July and earlier this month.

One of the girls said Schofield had been sexually assaulting her for the last five years and that the assaults, at least some of which occurred in Grafton, stopped last month, according to the complaint.

She said she couldn’t remember exactly how many times she had sexual intercourse with Schofield, but it was a lot, the complaint states.

The girl said that at the urging of her boyfriend she finally told her mother about the assaults.

The girl said she reached out to two of her friends who she believed were also assaulted by Schofield. One of them told authorities that in December 2021 she thought Schofield was taking her to a store to buy her alcohol but instead he drove to a secluded area in the Town of Saukville and told her he wanted to “do stuff,” according to the complaint.

The girl said she was drunk but remembers Schofield getting angry and aggressive when she became scared and asked to be taken home. She said she remembers crying when Schofield assaulted her, the complaint states.

A third girl said Schofield gave her vape cartridges in exchange for photos of her breasts and sent her lewd photos of himself. She said he gave other girls marijuana, alcohol and nicotine, according to the complaint.

Interviewed by authorities in July while in the Washington County jail, Schofield said the girl he is accused of assaulting in the Town of Saukville, who is identified in the criminal complaint as victim B, initially paid him to buy her vape cartridges but then started sending him photos of herself naked in exchange for the vape cartridges.

He said the girl wanted to have sex with him and he “eventually gave in,” the complaint states.

Schofield, who admitted sexually assaulting one of the girls three or four times in Grafton, told authorities he knew what he was doing with two of the girls was illegal but that he was in “too deep” and if he did not “play along” with victim B she would report him to police, the complaint states.

Sexual assault of a child is punishable by a maximum 25 years in prison and 15 years of extended supervision.

First-degree sexual assault of a child by threat or use of force is punishable by a maximum 40 years in prison and 20 years of extended supervision.
