Malloy to retire from bench that Gerol has sights on

Ozaukee County Circuit Judge Paul Malloy, the county’s senior jurist and presiding judge, announced this week he will retire mid-term on July 1 because of family health issues.

“I wish I had a few more years (on the bench), but I have things I need to deal with at home,” he said in an interview Tuesday.

Malloy, who has served on the county’s Branch 1 bench for 22 years and is stepping down three years shy of the end of his term on July 31, 2027, will be replaced by an appointee of Gov. Tony Evers.
