Library has calendar full of programs in January

    January activities sponsored by the Grafton public library have been announced.
    “How to Register Online for Classes at the Senior Center” is the topic for a 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 11, Tech Tuesday program at the Grafton Senior Center.
    Reference librarian Karl Suechting will lead the class.  
    To register, call the Senior Center at 375-5311.
    The Coloring Club will meet from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 4, in the upper level meeting room at the library.
    Coloring sheets and colored pencils are provided.  
    The Chess Club will meet from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5, in the upper level meeting room.
    The club is open to beginning and experienced members.
    The Mah Jongg Club will meet from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 12, in the upper level meeting room.
    All supplies are provided and instruction will be provided to beginners.
    The Writers Workshop will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, in the lower level meeting room.
    The workshop is open to area writers interested in novels and short stories and offers encouragement, critique, and creative feedback.
    Those attending are encouraged to bring 1,000 words of their work to share, but it is not required.  
    “Abraham Lincoln: A New Birth of Freedom” will be presented by Kevin Wood from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 1, in the lower level meeting room.
    The program, appropriate for both adults and children, consists of a first-person presentation of Lincoln in period dress, talking about his own life and the history of the United States from its founding through the Civil War.
