Library book sale opens this week

The Grafton Public Library will hold its Big Spring Book Sale from Thursday, April 13, through Monday April, 17.

The sale, which will be held in the lower level meeting room, will start at 9:30 a.m. every day and run until 7:30 p.m. on April 13, 4:30 p.m. on April 14, 2:30 on April 15, and 7:30 p.m. on April 17.

Monday, April 17, is half-price day.

The sale will feature fiction and nonfiction titles as well as DVDs, CDs and audio books.

The library will also accept donations of gently used materials, although no nonfiction books 15 years or older.

The Readers of the Night Book Club will meet from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 20, in the library’s lower level meeting room.

The book that will be discussed is Fredrik Backman’s “The Winners.”

The club meets every third Thursday. New members are welcome.

On Saturday, April 18, the library will host a writers’ workshop from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in its lower level meeting room.

The workshop is designed for writers interested in novels and short stories, including fan fiction.

Participants are encouraged to bring 1,000 words of their work to share with the group, which offers encouragement and feedback. Registration is not required.
