LETTER: Vote no on amendment that would restrict federal funds
To Ozaukee Press:
No matter our race, background or zip code, Wisconsinites want our fair share of the federal funds our tax dollars go toward. This is why I am voting no on both constitutional amendment questions on the Aug. 13 ballot, and I urge other Wisconsin residents to do the same.
Why? Our tax dollars go toward federal funds. When Wisconsin gets federal funds, it’s our money coming back to us to support Wisconsin farmers, renters, small businesses, food banks, the arts, education and Wisconsinites in times of crisis.
Our tax dollars support Wisconsinites, make Wisconsin stronger and support us in urgent times of crises. This measure would add more red tape that would slow down our money coming back to us.
If Ozaukee County is hit by a snowstorm or natural disaster, I want funds to get to us as quickly and efficiently as possible. It’s our tax money after all.
Let’s come together and use our collective power to vote no on both constitutional amendments on Aug. 13. Visit myvote.wi.gov to view your ballot and find your polling place.
