LETTER: Unlike Brooks, Dan Larsen will support Cedar Gorge preserve

To Ozaukee Press:

I am writing this letter to the editor as an introduction to Dan Larsen, who is running for state representative in the 60th Assembly District. Dan and I have been volunteers for candidates since 2008. He has always talked about how it is important to represent as many views of the people as possible. His views reflect the opinions expressed in many of the other letters I have read in Ozaukee Press.

An example would be that he believes the Cedar Gorge should be preserved as is in the proposed Cedar Gorge Clay Bluff Nature Preserve for all people to enjoy. People will come from Milwaukee and elsewhere to enjoy the preserve and then visit other sites and businesses located in the 60th District.

This is unlike our current assembly man, Robert Brooks, who will not even tell us, the people of the 60th District, who the developer is who wants to destroy the gorge to put up condos and make a huge profit off of what we the taxpayers want to be saved.

Dan Larson believes Wisconsin needs better gun control laws. Despite the mass shooting in Illinois on July 4, Brooks doesn’t believe in gun control. Here is an example:

Assembly Bill 495, sponsored by Brooks, allows adults who are licensed to carry firearms to drive onto school grounds to pick-up or drop-off their students without first having to unload and secure their firearms in their vehicles. Brooks believes that so-called gun-free zones “disarm law-abiding citizens and leave them defenseless against the criminals who ignore such arbitrary boundaries.”

We need Dan Larson to help protect the children in schools and our natural resources
