LETTER: Trump lies to his supporters and they wave their red hats

The author of a letter to the editor published recently in Ozaukee Press stated that Donald Trump’s supporters will continue to support him regardless of the controversies that surround the president. Yet at the political rallies where his supporters cheer and wave their red hats, Trump lies right to their faces.

Ironically, if Trump had run and won as a Democrat, these same folks would despise him. “Draft dodger, womanizer, liar, inexperienced opportunist,” they would say. But because Trump pretends to be a Republican, they sweep all his shortcomings under the rug.

Thanks to the recent New York Times article, we know Trump’s entire adult history has been fabricated. The Trump family engaged in tax fraud and deceit. Trump did not get into politics to help the coal miners in West Virginia or the factory workers in the Midwest. Trump go into this to help Trump.

He never divested himself of his business. He is profiting from his office. He signed the huge tax cut to help himself, his family, and others of his ilk. The Trump administration is corrupt, ethically challenged and his former campaign manager and his lawyer are convicted felons. The day Donald Trump leaves office will be cause for celebration.
