LETTER: Town officials endorse two who drafted new library pact
To Ozaukee Press:
All three of us have called the Town of Grafton our home for over 45 years, 30-plus of those being involved in our town government. In all those years, we have not involved ourselves in races for town supervisor positions that are not our own.
This time the dichotomy of the candidates is so diverse that we feel it is in the best interest of the town that we must get involved. A working team of those of us on the Town Board is a must for us to not only survive but thrive in a challenging and ever-changing dynamic that surrounds us.
Residents have trusted us to manage the affairs of the town for many years and we are asking voters to trust us again. We implore town citizens to cast their votes for Jeffrey Thoma and Mary Gosewehr in the election for town supervisor.
Jeff has served on the Plan
Commission, Public Safety Committee and now on the Village Board. Mary has been involved as a citizen representative and member of the Library Board.
Jeff and Mary worked almost exclusively to draft an updated library agreement with the village that will keep our library funds in the USS Liberty Memorial Library, while protecting the long-term interest of town taxpayers. That draft agreement is in the villages hands waiting for their comments.
Both Mary and Jeff have demonstrated their dedication and professionalism in working for the betterment of the town without personal agendas.
Lester Bartel Jr.
