LETTER: There’s nothing to fear from Covid, climate change, Trump

“Fear always springs from ignorance” is a quote attributed to Ralph Waldo Emerson. He could have been referring to today’s political fearmongering.

The pandemic is a classic example where fear was the reason healthy people were being vaccinated and masked. The fear was stoked because people did not draw the proper conclusion from early reports that the risk of death was overwhelmingly to the chronically ill and very elderly.
