LETTER: Protect walkers with traffic lights
To Ozaukee Press:
Logic 101: If there is a pedestrian safety problem on Grand Avenue, install traffic lights to stop the traffic and allow pedestrians to cross the street safely:

Editor’s note: To address pedestrian safety concerns at the intersection of Grand Avenue and Webster Street, the Board of Public Works has recommended constructing bump outs that would slow traffic, shorten crosswalk distance and prevent vehicles from passing around other vehicles stopped for walkers crossing Grand Avenue. However, the proposal was put on hold after a Common Council member said the bump outs would “gridlock traffic.”
