LETTER: Many helped Port High singers reach A Cappella finals in NYC

To Ozaukee Press:

The members of Port Washington High School’s A cappella group Limited

Edition would like to thank the friends and families who helped us raise funds to compete in the International Championship of High School A Cappella in New York City on April 22.

While there is no way that we could possibly thank each donor enough, we wanted to express our gratitude to our Port Washington-Saukville community, our families, the A cappella community and our friends.

At the beginning of the year our goal wasn’t to make it to the national championship, but rather to come together as a group to perform for as many people as possible. As the year progressed, we found a set of three songs that not only spoke to us, but reflected our experiences and beliefs: community togetherness and support. This message rang true as we continued through our ICHSA competition, winning both quarterfinals and semifinals and advancing to finals. The support from our community was overwhelming. Not only did we receive personal messages and congratulations from businesses and individuals, but we were able to fundraise enough for each member to compete at a minimal cost to them.

In consideration of everything that our community has done for us, we wanted to say thank you for creating such a fostering environment for music and for supporting us every step of the way.
