LETTER: Long teaching career prepared Klotz for School Board service
To Ozaukee Press:
As a neighbor of Yvonne Klotz, I have watched her from afar. A strong marriage, raised two wonderful children, teacher for 30 plus years, caregiver, the list could go on. In her years of teaching, I would see her come home with loads of books and papers. Walking my dog in late evening, I would see her in her window grading papers, on the phone with parents or other teachers. Her number one interest was the students and still happens to be. Her concerns were the students falling behind, those with learning disabilities and just average students.
When she retired from teaching, her goal was to run for the Port Washington-Saukville School Board, and she did it. The new job did not change her—students first, then support for our teachers and for an involved community.
Yvonne is a critical thinker and a Nancy Drew to find information to better our system. This is the type of person, who knows the ins and outs of what is needed for our children and their future, who deserves re-election to our School Board.
