LETTER: Impeachment meant to oust a tyrant, not ‘confuse voters’
To Ozaukee Press:
In response to the recent letter to the editor by Jean Opitz, impeachment is not, as the letter stated, “a tactic meant to confuse voters.” It is an option to remove from office a tyrant who is clearly unfit for his office.
Please don’t invoke God in this debate. (According to the letter, “God has the final say.”) If Trump is impeached or faces serious criminal charges once out of office, would the letter writer also agree that is “God’s will?” I highly doubt it.
The letter claimed Trump has “built up the military.” In fact, he’s pulling billions of dollars away from important military projects, some of which are needed for national security, to build his vanity wall on the Mexican border. Instead of wasting taxpayer dollars on something Mexico was supposed to pay for, how about we just start enforcing the laws and punishing employers — including Donald J. Trump — who hire people who are allegedly here illegally.
The letter claimed the Dems found a partisan whistleblower in the swamp. I thought Trump drained the swamp. Instead, we are up to our eyeballs in GOP sewage.
Trump has clearly broken the law and violated the Constitution. Even Republican Sen. Ron Johnson admitted he confronted Trump about strong-arming Ukraine to do his dirty work. Johnson was on “Meet The Press” with his marching orders, looking very uncomfortable. Instead of answering direct questions, he spewed debunked Fox News conspiracy theories — the same ones being spouted on Russian propaganda outlets — trying to get back into Trump’s good graces.
