LETTER: Here’s how voters can make state a better place on April 4

To Ozaukee Press:

Wisconsin could be on the verge of:

A more robust state economy that doesn’t cater to just a handful of wealthy donors who run low-tech companies, two of whom don’t even live in this state.

Sensible firearms laws that can stem the tide of rising gun crime.

Access to abortion services, which most Wisconsinites want, plus safer outcomes for women who bring their births to term.

Unimpeded access to the ballot and clearing away capricious, partisan roadblocks.

Giving all Wisconsin citizens a voice in state policy by reforming one of the most gerrymandered legislatures in the country. Our state’s regressive, uninspired, do-nothing Legislature, which takes its orders from that handful of donors and not the people of Wisconsin, has stood in the way of progress and public health safety. It is time they—and we—move on to something better.

By just filling in a circle on a ballot for Janet Protasiewicz for the Wisconsin Supreme Court, we can aspire to create the better state we deserve.

And, by the way, for those of you who think that this list above is indicative of Judge Protasiewicz being partisan, you’re deluding yourself if you think Dan Kelly isn’t.
