LETTER: Fox News missed the part about Trump playing on public’s dime

To Ozaukee Press:

In response to the letter in last week’s Ozaukee Press praising the reporting by Fox News on Donald Trump’s failed presidency, there were many glaring omissions. Did Fox report that Trump told a whopping total of 30,573 lies during his one term in office? Or that Trump spent 394 days at one of his own properties? That’s more than a quarter of his term away from the White House.

Of that 394 days, 285 were spent at a golf course and 134 were spent at Mar-a-Lago in Florida. It cost the U.S. taxpayers $141,000,000 in extra security, jet fuel, etc.so Trump could feed his golf habit.

Overall, the taxpayers paid $2.5 million to Trump’s businesses for hotel rooms, food, alcohol, etc., including $17,000 a month for a cottage at Trump National Bedminster for Secret Service agents. As far as employment is concerned, Trump is the only modern president to leave office with fewer Americans employed than when he took office.

And then there is Trump’s Big Lie, which he continues to tell to this day, that he won re-election in 2020. Trump lost the election by over 7 million votes. The Electoral College totals were Biden 306 to Trump’s 232. Every state, county and city certified their vote counts. Yet Trump continued to push his big lie, which culminated in the deadly attack by gullible Trump supporters on our nation’s Capitol on Jan. 6.

That day and the reprehensible actions of the mob will go down in infamy, and it all could of been avoided had Trump only told the truth.

Thankfully we have a new president now. The USA is back in the Paris Climate Agreement. Over 200 million doses of Covid vaccine have been administered in less than 100 days. The stock market is at all time highs, employment is growing and the economy is taking off. Thank you President Biden, the future looks bright.
