LETTER: Flag Day was also celebrated at its Stony Hill birthplace

To Ozaukee Press:

Thank you for the nice coverage of Flag Day in Waubeka in last week’s Ozaukee Press.

It was a fun-filled day with so many family activities. But let’s not forget that this holiday started at Stony Hill School, the birthplace of Flag Day.

The Ozaukee County Historical Society always does a nice job of opening the school for tours and presenting the Avenue of 50 State Flags for this special day.

This year there was an educational scavenger hunt, which was a big hit with the kids.

We are truly lucky to be able to celebrate right here in our own community this national holiday that was born here.
