LETTER: Fish Day main stage music was ‘cacophonous assault’ on ears
To Ozaukee Press:
This year’s so-called music at the Fish Day main stage was beyond bad. Yelling out discordant words with nothing that could be termed melody to the backdrop of driving, heavy-metal noise so deafening as to render conversations within 500 yards nearly impossible.
Is this is now the accepted norm of what our culture has degenerated to? Is this the best we can do? Enduring a cacophonous assault upon one’s ears may appeal to uneducated teens to the exclusion of nearly everyone else, but is this what our city should be known for?
Have mercy, city fathers and mothers, and deliver us from future suffering from music that sound as though it comes from the lower regions of earth.
A wise observer once wrote: “One can tell much about a civilization by the music its society produces and plays.”
