LETTER: Fentanyl carriers are mostly U.S. citizens, not illegal aliens

To Ozaukee Press:

In response to the letter to the editor in last week’s Ozaukee Press from U.S. Rep. Tom Tiffany, “Grafton fentanyl death shows consequences of open border,” I’m sorry about Nicholas Hamilton (the Grafton resident who died of a fentanyl overdose) and fear a call that my own child is a victim of this poison.

Fentanyl poisoning has been on the rise for over a decade. The majority of smugglers are U.S. citizens, not illegal immigrants crossing what Tiffany called an “open border.” Immigrants are not responsible for the drug cartels.

Americans need to be accountable for the demand for drugs in this country that makes fentanyl so profitable for drug dealers and work together to end this menace.
