LETTER: Evers can reverse damage to public schools done by Walker

To Ozaukee Press:

Due to the attacks on public education led by Scott Walker and his Republican cohorts, Wisconsin schools are struggling to hire enough qualified educators.  Districts have had to resort to filling vacancies with teachers who have fewer skills or less experience than desired.

In the upcoming election, we have the opportunity to change this. Tony Evers understands the importance of public education and will serve our schools and communities with honesty, integrity and personal experience.

If Wisconsin voters fail to elect Tony Evers, Scott Walker and the Republican Legislature will continue their pattern of cutting education budgets; teachers’ wages and benefits will decline and the teacher shortage will grow, leaving students’ education to suffer.

Please join me in voting for Tony Evers and his Democratic colleagues running for office on Nov. 6 to protect the heart of our communities—our public schools. Our children and grandchildren deserve a leader. Thank a teacher.  Vote.
