LETTER: Do protestors realize admitted BLM goal is a Marxist America?

To Ozaukee Press:

Regarding the recent conflicting letters to the editor about the Blacks Lives Matter movement from Barrett Genson and John Taucher, it appears that these gentlemen were responding to two different aspects of the same issue. Mr. Taucher was addressing the simple wording of what BLM implies to people. Mr. Genson, on the other hand, was referring to what the BLM movement clearly states in its operating manifesto.

In 2013, the co-founders of the BLM organization, Alicia Garza, Patrisse Cullors and Opal Tometi, stated: “We have been trained in and are disciples of the ideas of Marxism.” As community activists, they admit in writing that their goal is the complete overhaul of our present way of society. They list goals such as: defund the police, eliminate ICE, eliminate prisons, eliminate the nuclear family and forgive any black debt and so on.

My documentation comes from the stated goals of the BLM founders as found on the internet.

The BLM organization’s stated goal is to change our present system of governance to some form of Marxism, communism or socialism. I really wonder if the sign holders and protesters, when they were in high school or college, had ever been exposed to comparing our present system of governance to any of these other forms. If these same people had studied and really understood what they were advocating for, I would ask them: “Where have these ideas ever worked?”

The old saying that “if you don’t know your history, then you are doomed to make the same mistakes of the past” sticks in my mind.
