LETTER: Council incumbent serves to make his city a better place
To Ozaukee Press:
Over the 42 years that I was fortunate to live in Port Washington, a lot was accomplished to improve the quality of life in our fair city. I count myself lucky to have served as Port Washington’s previous mayor and vice chairman of the Police and Fire Commission for nine years. Being the owner of a thriving pharmacy in Port for over 26 years, I have a great appreciation for fiscal responsibility.
As mayor, I appointed Jonathan Pleitner to serve on the Finance, License and Personnel Committees because he has the financial and personal sense to guide the city in the face of difficult levy limit restrictions and select highly qualified city employees to serve the citizens of Port.
I know Jonathan will always act in the best financial interests of the city. He is qualified to represent the residents of the fifth ward. He does not serve the city’s residents for his own benefit; he serves the city to benefit the entire community and put it in a better place than he found it. He loves and cares for the City of Port Washington.
I join others in recommending Jonathan for re-election as fifth ward alderman. Marty Becker
